Adult speechreading program with 57-page manual and video. Excellent in improving lip reading skills. This program has several speakers to show the different speech patterns that a lipreader must become acquainted with.
"I See What You Say" is an easy to use, fun and interesting new approach to acquiring speechreading skills for hard of hearing people. Includes evaluation of your own lip reading ability in both noisy and quiet environments. The skills taught will help compensate for background noise, aid speech discrimination, and help reduce feelings of isolation. Although we cannot see sounds that are produced in the back of the mouth, about 40% of the sounds of speech can be identified using vision alone. This comprehensive and clearly presented format of instruction includes practice for recognizing 12 speech sound positions in words and phrases. Activities advance to sentences, practice in every day situations, and brief stories.
