The Gentex Smoke Detectors offers reliable, early warning of the presence of smoke. An outstanding safety device for people who wear hearing aids. This is a single station, 120 VAC photoelectric smoke detector. No need to hire an electrician to hook up this smoke detector. Simply plug the 9-ft cord into any standard AC outlet. When smoke is detected, the bright 177 candela strobe will flash along with a loud 90 dB horn. If you cannot hear the loud horn, you can SEE the ultra-powerful strobe light. UL Approved to wake a person from a sound sleep when placed in the person's sleeping room. Portable, audible, & visual smoke detectors, perfect for small apartments, dorm rooms, etc.
